From 1997 to 2005 the members of Saint Anne’s Movement (SAM) were the parents of the scholars, and they had monthly formation andmeetings. In 2006, only the active parents became the members of SAM.

At the start it was composed of fifteen active and dedicated parents of the scholars. They had monthly formation and meetings to discuss their accomplishments and the activities that are going to take place. They helped in the conduct of formations for all the scholars and parents; and also help the Sisters in monitoring the activities of the scholars by visiting their houses to know their situation.

Now, we have our retreat and recollection twice a year: the advent and lent recollection together with the parents of the scholars. Every summer, together with the Sisters, we visit the poor families in different barangays to give some food and clothes which we solicited from generous and can afford families.

During Christmas time we use to have fund raising projects like selling of lanterns, bells and candles from which we get our funds, and we use this amount to give Christmas gifts for the old and sick people of our town.

We celebrate the Feast of St. Anne together, usually Holy mass and prayers, andsometimes with the minorities and the poor people in remote areas. With this kind of celebration we make more people happy and feel loved and cared.

We continue visiting the families of the scholars to know their situations and to monitor their studies.

In 2012 onwards we implement more outreach programs like making small houses for the neediest families and supplementary feeding programs in the public school.

As of now SAM continues to be the helping hand of the Sisters in their projects and activities, and luckily, as the aim of the organization continue to spread out likewise willing and dedicated people were added. Now we have a total of 36 active members in the Saint Anne’s Family.

GRUPO DE FAMILIA SANTA ANA DE PUERTO GALERA (MINDORO ORIENTAL, FILIPINAS)

Comenzamos como Grupo del Movimiento Santa Ana (MSA) en 1997. Desde entonces hasta 2005 todos los padres de los niños apadrinados por la Fundación Juan Bonal formaban parte del grupo, pero a partir de ese año, sólo los que querían implicarse activamente formaron parte del mismo.

Inicialmente formaron el grupo 15 padres. Tenían reuniones mensuales para recibir formación y organizar actividades. También colaboraban en la formación de los padres de los niños apadrinados y en el seguimiento de sus familias mediante visitas para conocer las necesidades.

Ahora tenemos retiros dos veces al año, en adviento y en cuaresma, junto con los padres de los niños apadrinados. Los veranos, junto con las Hermanas, visitamos familias necesitadas de varios barrios y les llevamos ropa y comida que nos han donado personas con recursos.

En Navidades organizamos actividades para recoger fondos con los que poder adquirir regalos para los ancianos y enfermos de nuestra ciudad. Hacemos y vendemos faroles, campanas, velas, etc…

Celebramos anualmente con las hermanas la fiesta de Santa Ana compartiendo la Eucaristía, y, en algunas ocasiones lo hacemos junto con minorías étnicas o personas necesitadas y así los alegramos y hacemos que se sientan más aceptados y queridos.

Seguimos visitando las familias de los niños apadrinados para conocer su situación y monitorizar sus estudios.

En 2012 asumimos nuevos proyectos, como hacer pequeñas casas para familias necesitadas o llevar a cabo programas de alimentación en las escuelas públicas.

Actualmente seguimos ayudando a las Hermanas en todos sus proyectos y actividades, y se nos van sumando personas comprometidas, por lo que ahora formamos el grupo de FSA 36 personas.
